Where do we draw the line?
If anyone understands WoW burn out, it's me. Everyone knows I don't log in often except on raid nights.
I have been doing this for a while now because I found myself burned out on the game.
We can't keep holding peoples spots every time they want to take a month or more off the game.
We have Star up and coming and we have Kart wanting to raid. We have Stone wanting a regular spot. etc etc
We really need to build a solid team, that shows up every week, in order to progress.
We might need to make a new rule that if you miss more than 2 weeks of raid that it's reasonable for us to find a permanent replacement.
I love our group dynamic but people can't keep expecting us to hold their spots.
This is directed at noone in particular, it's just something I've been thinking about.
If you are sick of the game itself, just take non-raid nights off. Stop logging in and sitting there bored. No wonder you are burned out lol

Re: Where do we draw the line?
I do only log in on raid nights. It's not a matter of burn out, but rather I am losing interest in it. I joined the guild because we were a casual raiding guild that liked to get things done. Lately all anyone cares about is progression and not just enjoying the game. I am all for progression, but I want to enjoy it, not smash my face against a boss for 4 hrs a night twice a week.
I need some out of game time, as in like.... just nothing to worry about at all.
If I take a leave, which is still a debate, then my spot is open to whoever, and I DO NOT expect to walk back in and take it away from someone. Fill it, and keep whoever in it. I can find other raids if need be until a spot opens for me, and don't mind doing that one bit.

Re: Where do we draw the line?
So dramatic lol
I'm not sure who you've been raiding with Ass...but the raid I raid with isn't progressing at all and only a few seem to care about progression. Most of us log in, enjoy each others company while raiding and haven't progressed much at all.
We tried something new last raid (new raid) for fun because pretty much everyone is sick of MSV.
But yes, I agree...if you aren't enjoying smashing your face up against a boss for hours twice a week...I would suggest you quit raiding altogether or find a raid team who has already successfully completed the raids (ie smashed their faces against said bosses repeatedly) so they can carry you through.
I think part of the current problem we are having is that some people simply aren't enjoying raiding anymore, and those that ARE still enjoying it are feeling this and it's less fun (feeling like we are forcing people to raid)
I say it's time for something new for our guild/raid team.
Everyone who is sick of raiding or sick of WoW in general can step out now while Lucy is gone and Ass is leaving. This way we can count up who we have as regulars (who is staying) and build from there.
